Improper pinion angles can cause driveline vibration, leading to premature wear on u-joints and cv-joints. While not all 3 1/2″ lift kits necessitate pinion adjustments, lifts extending up to 5 1/2″ often do require fine-tuning to avoid unwanted angle changes.
These 2 1/2″ wide steel shims are designed for easy installation, featuring longer center pins for a secure fit onto the bottom of your leaf packs. To ensure proper performance, we recommend taking accurate measurements before and after your suspension lift installation. Aim for an optimum pinion angle of 2° for the best results. These pinion shims worked great. I’ve got a 5.5” lift and the rear pinion angle was very bad. It caused bad vibration at speed, so much that the t-case shift knob looked like a blur because it was shaking so bad. After the shims the vibration is gone and the t-case shift knob is still as can be. This will extend the life of all drivetrain components and was a great investment.
