Description
For those running full-width axles on their Early Broncos, our Full Width Offset Coil Buckets offer a robust solution tailored to your needs. Crafted from heavy-duty 1/4″ plate steel, these coil spring towers are designed specifically to facilitate the installation of full-width axles. The offset design, approximately 2″ away from the frame, optimizes the alignment of your coils over the wider axle, ensuring enhanced performance and stability.
Installation requires welding, making it ideal for enthusiasts seeking a long-lasting upgrade. Additionally, these towers are compatible with 1978-79 Bronco (5 1/2″ diameter) coil springs, providing versatility in your project. The product features zinc-plated surfaces, delivering both durability and protection against corrosion, and includes zinc-plated upper coil retainer tabs for secure coil placement.
If you’re considering an axle swap for a Ranger-based vehicle, these buckets can accommodate a full-width or 1-ton axle, though frame shimming may be needed to achieve a level fit. For those looking to swap in an Early Bronco or CJ/YJ/TJ/JK width front axle, we recommend exploring our designated coil bucket designed specifically for this purpose.
Please note that the 5261 or 5110 coil buckets are not compatible with RVBs equipped with full-width axles when using Duff long arms and 70/30 shocks due to potential interference. We advise either switching to the 5112 coil buckets or upgrading your shocks to our MS2020 series for optimized performance.
Keep in mind that while these coil buckets are not factory replacements for the 1978-79 Broncos, they serve effectively as a 2.5″ lift option, making them a worthwhile addition to your vehicle enhancement efforts.

This will be the second time I have restored my 1970 Ford Bronco. The last restoration was very straight forward, this time is much more complicated and I’m glad to have The Duff staff to help. The staff (Chris and Chase) have been great… I’ve called numerous times regarding questions or concerns with this build and every time they’ve been able to sort it out. These coil buckets are a very solid product with a very solid team that stands behind them. I Look forward to working with them in the future!
