Description
The James Duff 4-Link Suspension system offers a professional, engineered solution for Early Bronco owners seeking optimal traction and stability on challenging terrain. By utilizing a dual triangulated design, this system effectively maintains tire contact with the ground, translating power efficiently while offering an exceptionally smooth ride.
Common concerns like axle wrapping, pinion angle misalignment, and leaf spring failures are completely addressed with this installation. Our pre-researched setup simplifies the process, providing all necessary components for a straightforward installation without the complexity of sourcing parts individually.
Key features include:
– Compatibility with coil-overs or air shocks, available as a complete kit
– Minimum lift requirement of 5.5 inches above stock for full suspension travel
– Truss design allows for minimal adjustments over the axle (welding required)
– Integrated upper and lower link mounts in a one-piece frame bracket design
– Elimination of axle wrap and misaligned pinion angles, reducing chances of drive shaft failures
– Solutions to wheel hop and leaf spring issues
– Optional rear sway bar kit for enhanced on-road handling and off-road traction and articulation
– Proven reliability ensures a hassle-free installation experience
This comprehensive solution allows flexibility in installation, letting you stretch your wheelbase to the desired length. The robust construction includes beefy lower links made from industry-standard tubing as used in our well-regarded radius arms, while upper links consist of 1.5″ .120w DOM. Everything comes powder-coated in your choice of signature James Duff blue or Midnight metallic black, complete with all necessary hardware and adjustable rod ends.
Keep in mind that installation will require professional welding services, modifications to the exhaust, and potentially the relocation of brake lines and e-brake cables. For compatibility, note that this setup is not designed to work with James Duff Dual Exhaust systems.
This DIY kit includes all essential parts except for coils, coil towers, retainers, or shock mounting cross members, ensuring everything needed for installation is at hand.

I purchased the front radius arms and DYI rear 4 link a few months back. They sent the radius arms in blue like I ordered but the 4 link came in grey. Took them a few weeks to sort the problem out. I was in no rush so it wasn’t a big problem. I inspected the kit and it is superbly made. I am in the process of installing it with 36″ coil overs and lengthening my my Bronco to 100″ wheel base. I have had no problems so far. I will write another review or update this one after I get it all finished.
