This adapter kit provides a reliable solution for integrating a C6 transmission with a Dana 20 transfer case. While modifications are somewhat more extensive than with C4 setups, the benefits in strength and capability are significant. Key requirements include:
– A 4WD C6 transmission with a 31 spline output shaft.
– The output shaft must be shortened to ensure correct fitment.
– For 66-68 Bronco models, it is necessary to replace the front driveshaft with later-style options, specifically parts #3811 and #3813 Companion Flange.
– Owners of a 73-77 Bronco equipped with the J-Pattern transfer case shifter will need to modify or replace the mounting assembly and possibly the shift rails. Consider using our #2150 J-Pattern Transfer Case Shifter to minimize modifications.
– An automatic shifter is also required for complete setup.
